Windows SideShow

Windows SideShow is a new technology in Windows Vista that sends information from your computer to compatible devices, such as a display in the lid of a laptop, a digital picture frame, or a remote control. In designing for Windows SideShow, I optimized for the most likely scenario--a user with only one device and a handful of programs--but there is no limit to the number of devices and programs that a user can install.

As one of two designers for Windows SideShow, I crafted the user interface and interaction model for the Windows SideShow pages in Control Panel. I also ensured a cohesive end-to-end user experience for the technology. I collaborated with writers and editors to conceive and write the Windows SideShow User Experience Guidelines for software developers and hardware manufacturers.
