Broadband Networking

As the lead designer for the first Microsoft Broadband Networking product line (2001-2002), I worked closely with research, industrial design, and user assistance to design the user experience for the product line. Our goal was to create a simple but powerful system that enabled any home user to set up a network with relative ease.

The Microsoft Broadband Networking line project was a challenge: the timeline was aggressive, there were 11 products to create simultaneously, and the deliverables included hardware, software, and printed materials. All deliverables needed to work together to create an easy, seamless experience so users could share an Internet connection and files among multiple computers in the home. At the time, no other product on the market offered a truly easy setup experience for the average user, but I believe that we pulled it off with this project.
