  User experience designer, Windows Mobile PC Group / 2002-2007

  User interface, interaction, and user experience design for Windows Vista. Focused on features and experience improvements for mobile computers including laptops, Tablet PCs, and Ultra-Mobile PCs. Areas of ownership include the new Windows SideShow platform, mobile-optimized graphics themes, user experience guidelines, Media Center experience on touch and pen systems, software-hardware interaction, optimizing Windows for use with the pen as a pointing device, use of gestures to perform actions, ink annotation of text documents and web pages, and peer-to-peer networking. Extensive work with inductive user interface design.

• User experience designer, Hardware Group / 2000–2002

  Collaborated with usability, user assistance, industrial design, and project management to ship the first Microsoft Broadband Networking line of products, TV Photo Viewer, SideWinder Game Voice, and to develop several conceptual projects. Designed for software, television onscreen navigation, print, and the Internet. Art directed off-site vendors and managed an on-site product designer.

  Collaborated with art directors, developers, and production artists to design web sites for Fortune 1000 companies, including Swedish Medical Center and Unionbay. Oversaw internal creative processes and resources.

  Designed corporate identity guidelines, collateral materials, and document templates. Helped create web sites and client proposals.

• University of Washington

  Project leader, Design history database and web site / 1998–2000

  Worked with design professor Douglas Wadden to create a database and linked web site to communicate course content to students. Managed project from conception to completion, including design of information architecture and graphic interface. Led a team of six students, managed project schedule and tasks.

  Redesign an architecture database existing web site to create greater visual appeal and improve site navigation. Create several design concepts for later implementation.
